The Steel drum

The Steel drum is the Instrument of the 20th century! It wasn't before 1945 that the steel bands appeared with their special clear and cheerful sound, invading the streets of Trinidad.

Konkie plays the "queen" 3-1. This instrument was made in Dortmund, Germany by Eckhart Schulz. This unique chromatic drum consists of two parts and has 42 notes. It is a 3 in 1 instrument with a pitch from c# to f#3!!! It measures 2X67 cm.
